Assuming your bike was running sweat last time you used it, then:

    1) Is your digital display going blank and thus also resetting your trip counter?
Your battery doesn't have enough juice because either it's flat or end of life.

    2) Attempted kick start?
If it's your battery, it should fire up on 1st or 2nd kick.

    3) Choke position?
Needs to be partly 'on' to start with our current sub 10deg mornings.
Your previous attempts might have also flooded it.

    4) What's your ignition kill switch position?
Big red switch near front brake.

Hope that helps, because that is so far the top 4 thing's I always check when mine fails to start.

    Mixture settings? or something?...

Is the choke semi locked on?, is there a kink in your fuel line?, checked your carb for leaks/holes, maybe a torn diaphram or similar letting to much air in...

I already covered this off--check for water in the carb.

Just double check the HT lead is screwed into the coil and the plug cap properly.
Without seeing/hearing it fault, your idea of a "flat spot" in the revs could be different to someone elses interpretation. Make sure you drain the whole tank and carb, and start fresh and clean.

Is the spark plug sparking? Take it out and see.

Because if it's just wind-wind-wind, and takes a while to start. It could be an electrical problem coming from the cdi. Sadly they are throw away units.
