By Private Number plate, I am guessing you mean Personalised Plate ?
The rules say it has to be 5 characters or less for a motorcycle.

I got mine years ago when they were a fraction of what they are charging these days. At current prices I wouldn't bother, but if you have the plate already it costs little to make the change. A month or so ago, when I bought my new (to me) bike it was $10 to surrender the old plate, put the personalised plate to the new bike and issue a new plate for the old bike.

There are lots of bikes with them, I could name several from on here.

Believe it or not that didn't even enter into the thought process. I try to ride in a manner that doesn't attract undue attention anyway, so don't see it as an issue.

If you get something that works for you...it's cheaper than an exhaust system. I really like mine, makes it you neak.

Cheers - can you spot me bail?

As an afterthought - 'confirmation' would have been funnier. :-)

that may be commendable........ but it sounds really pompous?

Good point, that wasn't the intent.

How about I just admit I ride like a nanna so the "need" to do a runner has never arisen.

As car makes and colours are so common, all personal plates do is make you easily identifiable. Maybe some think that is a good thing.

I am not sure that they work the same on motorcycles (well not from the front anyway).

    I wonder if:
