Any Scooterists want to get involved in ...

representing the scooter crowd in the WBOP ACC/NZ Police/Motorcyclists Rep's lowering Rider Error campaign?

It involves representing scooterist views, as a part of the Motorcycling Community.

I'm not sure if there is someone in mind at ACC or NZ Police already, it was only suggested today - so I doubt it, I'm not sure at what capacity the involvement is, but I thought I'd throw a net out here...and see if there's any interest.

If you're interested pm me, cheers

Hey guys thanks for all the interest.
Just to let you know, scootnz put herself forward as the scooterist rep, so scooter representation is now in Scootnz's hands!
    Cheers Jess and Goodluck!!

There is a major problem with the above sentence. Scooterists (if that is actually a term) should have no view on any part of the motorcycling community. They're NOT motorcyclists, they're scooter riders. I can't believe there is even a forum for them on here.

That may be.... but it would seem they are part of Motorcyclist stats.

If they go down, for example with no safety gear, there will be an ACC claim (which appears to be most often the case!)

I assume it then reflects in Motorcycling stats.

To leave them unrepresented, but then whinge when a rider error accident impacts Motorcycling as a whole, seems a bit silly IMHO.

When asked for input at which level scooterists need representing...(one of three) this was my reply:

"I don't see why the scooter community couldn't be represented, Infact I really think they should.

My thoughts are that I'm not sure if they need to fit into the wider Motorcycling focus, because of the power and speed difference.

But then an understanding of how scooters affect general motorcycling stats, skill, training, and safety gear fit's into the wider group of Motorcycling.

Also I think a youth focus couldn't hurt, fresh ideas and viewpoints. Listening to youths can sometimes turn up wee gems.

I believe that is an affirmative sir! Bare in mind this the WBOP Rider Error campaign, so perhaps our area has a higher incidences due to the beach areas, scooter dudes hooning around in shorts and jandals? So the rider error campaign here, is taking a look at all issues as a whole, whether scooterists are rep'ed as a resource focus only, I'm not sure!
