Cool Washed bike, rear running lights don't work, but turn signals do.

Hello all. I washed my 1990 Honda GB500 and I must've gotten a little crazy with the water because now my lights are a bit messed up.

The front lamps are dual filaments and the left one only worked as a turn signal but would be a running lamp. The right one was unaffected by my washing. I replaced the bulb and now it works as a running lamp again.

The rears (single filament) now work as turn signals only, so I replaced their bulbs too but they still only work as turn signals.

Fuses are all okay, Jiggled some wires and unplugged and replugged. No dice. Any thoughts? Tricks you want me to try and report back?

    Thanks!

Put your bike in the airing cupboard for a while.

Umm mate it think you will find that the rears have never worked as running lights. They were only on the front. Hence the twin filaments on the front and the single fialaments on the rear. Check you have the wires around the right way on the front one that is not working and replace the buld.

You may be right. Let me throw this at you; if I can find a similar size bulb with two filaments do you think it would act as a running light? I would gather not, but it would cost me $5 to buy a bulb (if I can find one to fit) so it may be worth a shot. Thoughts there?

might have to suck it and see mate, but im pretty sure it wont work, as the electric current would only go to the wires when the brake is applied - no amount of filaments will change that!

You have a brilliant bike tho! I love those gb's hang around the site for a bit, its awesome to have members from other countries, but expect to cop a few jokes at your expense
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

Yeah you guys are absolutely right; I looked at some photos I took of it when I first bought it and guess what? No rear indicators.

Thanks for the welcome. I like reading all the threads on here; its a great forum with a good number of GB owners which is hard to find in the US.

I've attached my bike here if you wanted to have a look. I'll probably also upload a few to the new members forum, too.

    Thanks guys.
