One would want to stop and take pictures from it. The feet still have that tingley feeling

I saw a documentary on that a few months back, was pretty cool how they made the bridge in 2 pieces then pushed it out over the gap.

Seen it before too - it's a suspended bridge rather than a suspension bridge, way cool.

Discovery Channel. Extreme Engineering I fink it was (?). They had rams pushing each section of road out to the next pillar. Cool engineering

One wonders how much the petrol tax is in France. One of those over Auckland would be cool -- you could ride from the Waikato to Northland without having to risk being jafa-ed...

If i remember corectly the bridge was a private venture, user pays type system. By putting in that bridge it cut hours of the trip time.

yeah but if most of their petrol tax went to roading instead of into the governments slush fund thats probally why they could afford things like this( I know it was private)

So why not instead of increasing petroltax to pay for aucklands road just increase the proportion of the revenue gathered that actually goes to things to do with petrol like roads.

you must need to bereal smart to get into gunnmint i reckon, user pays is their key phrase at the mo, yet I dont use social welfare yet i pay every time i fill up??
