Very true, very true. But I have cast my dice and will trust to the universe and a speedy passage through customs. It took me a while to find what I wanted at a price I could manage to be honest. Fingers crossed.

The damage was a bit beyond knead-it bro. Your mower man did a great job of welding up a spare but cracked cover I had. He's also mates with a good mate of mine with a drag-racing addiction. So we had a bit of a yarn. He's a GC for sure.

Hey glad to hear that mate. Did he remember the job he did for me on the Duke's swingarm ?

Come to think of it, there was an old school drag bike in his shop when I had the work done.

I only met him a couple of times - he was a mate of a mate.

So you can use the spare as a back up if the other one doesn't arrive in time ?

It's the flywheel I really need, and I haven't tested it but my stator had some minor damage as well. It's worth getting a spare while getting the bits in. I seem to be crashing a bit more on a 600.

Run it dead loss this round then Clive. With out a flywheel she'll rev real quick, just dont stall it off the line.

Mmmm. Smarter than the average bear aren't ya? I was hoping I could borrow a Superbike for Clubmans if mine isn't going.

If you do this get two batteries and have them fully charged up overnight. Also get a jumpstart so that you don't drain the battery starting it. A short 6-8 lap race should be OK.

I had a similar issue when I fried the rectifier at Nationals this year and I could not get the Gixxer to last more than 13 laps around Pukekohe. The first indication of a problem is the instruments go blank or tach drops to zero. Electronics are quite sensitive to voltage drops.

Buy me a pair of slicks and I'll think about it.

Heed the battery thing though. Bring a spare, and only bump or jump start it.
