Caution: Serious ranting.
Fucking wankstains.
Yesterday, I had 5 guys hired from Allied Workforce helping me out to try and get a job done, one of them stole my cellphone.
Called up Vodafone last night, explained the situation and asked to have my number blocked for outgoing calls. "Sorry our system is down, we can't do that at the moment. It should be running in half an hour." I asked if they could ring me once the job was done on my landline. "I'm sorry, if the system is down, I can't leave a note for anyone". I inquired as to whether she could still use a pen and paper. Apparently Vodafone either doesn't trust their employees with sharp implements, or the ones that I spoke to have shown a dangerous tendancey to fall asleep on their pencils.
Rang back an hour later, explained the last debacle, asked if the job had been done. "No." After explaining the same situation 3 times, and her profound lack of understanding of the English language, I asked to speak to her Supervisor. Rather than transfer my call, she hung up on me.
Call back. By this time, i'm starting to get very fucked off by the sutomated hag that demands that I enter my cell number, and PIN "to make the process easier", and yet everytime someone answers, I have to explain my name, number, PIN, address and the date I lost my virginity before I can even start my conversation. What's the fucking point of giving it to the sutomated system then?
Spoke to the Supervisor this time. Very friendly, very helpful. Apologised for the hassles, synpathised that i'd aready spent an hour and a half on the phone. Put a block on the number straight away. Apparently not that hard.
Went to bed still fuming.
Called them back the next day to find out if any calls had been made between the time it was stolen, and the time the number was blocked. "We have no record of that number being reported stolen." Fuck's sake.
Had the number blocked (again) and they told me that 3 calls had been made the night before (all after the supposed first block had been put in place) and that they would all be charged to my contract as "I hadn't contacted them to inform them".
Four fucking hours I had wasted by this point, and at least 10 phone calls with all the "transferring" (cutting off. Is this a Vodafone policy? Cut someone off once they start asking difficult questions?)
Unfortunately I have to contact them again tomorrow to get some more information before going to the cops.
And to think that I left Telecom for bad customer service.
