My new Caberg helmet

Arrived from the UK yesterday, $360 NZ delivered to my door.

CABERG V2R, i ordered the V2 how ever they couldnt get them anymore so i got the new V2R for 20 pounds more.

The intergrated visor is really good, very clear to look through and a good level of tint for all day cuising in the sun but not quite dark enough for those direct sunstrike hits.

The helmet is a little noisey, about as loud as my $160 HJC, but all the ventilation may have something to do with it, ear plugs or iPOD may fix that.

overall it looks good, it has a sunvisor, priced well and it its sweet

Another convert to the ol'cabbage! Had mine for just over two years now, dang good it is! Which website did you go to? Will be getting another replacement one in the near future.

The only other option for a helmet with integrated visor at the time i got mine was a plain black HJC for $550 in NZ or the Schuberth helmets at like $1000, there was the Nolans but they had the gay tint strip on the outside of the clear visor which i think they have dropped in favour of an internal sun visor now.

with sizing, i knew the HJC i had as a first helmet wore and got a little loose on my head so i basically followed the size guide on the site, compared it to my HJC, typically my head was on the border line between sizes, so i went a size down hoping it will wear and get a little more free over time and it has.

I bought a Caberg lid whilst in the UK last year. I think it was 109 pounds. It's a flip front, integral visor model. Fit and finish are great as is the extra peripheral visibility it seems to afford but, oh, the wind noise!!!! Terrible. So long as I take ear plugs or I'm just going for a pootle around the Port Hills it's fine. Wouldn't use it for a long journey though.

Out of interest, I also bought a nice AGV S4. Though it only cost 170 pounds I've seen the same lid locally for over $600! That just takes the piss.

I went for the Nolan myself however I agree with your comments over the sun visor.

I've had my Cabbage V2 for 2 years or more now. Yeah the wind noise is a tad below the average mark..which means wear ear plugs. Apart from that the build quality is tops. The internal visor is excellent and so useful this time of year when the sun drops so early.

There is a guy importing them, he lives in West Auckland. I went 'round to try some on and ended getting the same model you have but in a demonic graphic black/red thingie. Agree about the wind noise, not too bad but not too quiet coming from my last lid that was a Schuberth. The guy sells them for $330 when I got mine in May. He was handing out cards at the Puke Classics this year.

We may all know our helmet size, that's pretty obvious, but different brands of helmets fit differently even with the same indicated size. It was a serious question.

Very true. Shell shapes tend to vary quite a bit. I wouldn't buy a lid I hadn't actually tried on.
