Bummer T/L, that has to suck ! Is there a driveway accross from the car ? Could almost think some one with a truck deck backed into it, or like someone said alloy bull bars perhaps !
someone with a car the same and panel beater/welding skills could fix it up pretty close but unfortunately i think your gonna get squat for it !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Does not look like the car was traveling same way as yours was facing. Looks to me very much like a side on - like someone else mentioned with flatdeck reversing out of their drive.

For there to be no other debris or paint transfer it is most likely a commercial truck of some sort or possibly a heavy passenger vehicle with bullbars but I doubt it. Damage is too high up to be light passenger vehicle.

Shameful intro to our area hope the scumbag hit his head bad.
No mention of a police report Trump lady. I hope you gave them a call thats a hit an run. The local Howick cops are pretty familiar with the area an they might spot a newly damaged vehicle if its anywhere around? Gossamer is a pretty busy street you might just get lucky??

    Good luck anyway!

Sorry about your car.Where those marks in the mud on the pavement there before your car was hit? Was the rust from the other vehicle or had you just waited a few days before you took the pics?I now keep my car parked inside after a similiar bad experience. I hate wankers that do such things. If your car is still driveable get a quote from a panelbeater. Then at least you can make an informed decision.
Thought it was your bike parked out there the other day I went past.Unfortuneately Gossamer is a fairly busy thoroughfair.

The thing that surprises me is that you left a skyline on the roadside over night and it did not get stolen!! Gone in 60 seconds here in ChCh.
subaru wrx's and skylines are some of the most common cars stolen in NZ.
Put it on trade me but with a $2000 reserve, you will get your money.
It would be like putting a MotoGuzi with a smashed front end up for sale.
It will create a lot of interest

He wouldn't have got far. Quickly drive around (somehow) and see if there and any parked-up cars within a few kilometers of you and get their rego.

edit: oh, that was days ago..

bummer, looks like a right off though....hope it's still not parked on the road...you'll get a ticket just to top it off

put it on trade me, but i suggest deregistering it to stop another skyline getting stolen and having it's identity swapped.

De-registering it will decrease its resale value hugely. Maybe take it off the road and the plates off it?

So last week, Thursday I moved to a new house and durring all the moving in and car loads of stuff I finished around 12.30am. I left my car on the road...

In front of a ped crossing light over the car and no bend, round about prob 100 feet away. No need for concern I thought.

So Friday I get up to go to work and some ASSHOLE has hit my car and just left. No note nadda just a pile of shit and a smashed up car.

Happened around 2-6am so Im sure it was a drunk. No skid marks s/he just smacked it and then drove off........

I check my insurance and no sorry you have third party and we would only cover if you had his details and he wasnt insured.

I know I know 3rd party prob wasnt the best but the car has an immobolizer, had its own secure park (at the old house) and its too late I dont need the lecture pwwwease.

So pretty much that was one hell of an expensive move and I dont have a car now.

So the car is still parked where it was hit.
Is rego and warrented and was an ex car, never had any problems.
Has lotsa gadgets like a remote starter, beeps when goes backwards, good stereo and I started the car with the remote starter and she fired up. The motor is good as it was side rear ended.......

Do I put it on trademe?
    If so how much?
Is it worth trying to fix it?

    Suggestions welcome

LTSA have strict rules so may need to be sold as deregistered anyway

I think you guys are right, looks like someone from accross the road backed out and hit it. Trouble is obviously they dont want to say anything so how can I prove it. Theres one car there now and no damamge and chances are if it was them they are not going to leave it where I can see it. Neighbour said he heard it happen around 4am but didnt see anything. Shall I call the cops and ask them to go over and say a witness saw them?
