cbr250rr fuel tap

hi, does anyone have a non-leaky cbr 250 rr fuel tap they want to part with, or something that will fit said tap that won't leak?

You could try take it apart, if the diaphragm isn't ripped there is usually a ball bearing that is pushed into a seat. There may be crap in there, or corrosion that can be polished out, or drop another ball bearing in the seat & give it a smart tap, that has worked before.

My CBR400 tap used to leak because the o-ring betwen the tap and the tank was bung. A 25 cent petroleum resistant one from the friendly Mana bearings and seals sorted it.

I already pulled the whole thing apart + cleaned it, attempted to use some sealant that repco recommended (which subsequently dissolved). Yeah It is leaking from the oring where the tap bolts onto the tank, and also from the side with the diaphragm on it. the diaphragm is slightly ripped.

Okay, so managed to get a new fuel tap (well, second hand) - seems to work though it wouldn't work untill i pulled it apart and took out the spring inside it? Is there supposed to be a spring between the diaphragm and the cover bit that the drain tube connects to? And if so, why wouldn't it be working with the spring in, but does with it out? weird...either way, it's not leaking at all as far as I can tell :-) (2h worth lol)

the spring should turn your fuel tap off when the bikes not running, was the vacume hose connected? (it runs from tap to the left hand cylinder)

Nah that's the spring inside the rivited side that has the ball bearing in it isn't it? I'm talking about the spring on the right hand side of the tap, between the edge of the diaphragm and the right end cover. Yeah vacuum hose was definately connected?
