    VHS to digital conversion?

Does anyone have a USB2.0 based VHS to digital video (and audio) conversion kit I could borrow to copy 4 VHS tapes?

I've got some piccies of the kids as toddlers and need to convert 'em before the videos go bung. (also some porno too )

Something like the Dazzle from Dick Smith:

I need an external USB2.0 capable device as the target machine is a laptop (therefore cannot use an internal capture card)

Beer of your choice or petrol vouchers / money is offered.

    Thanks,
    David.

    G'day eddie,

If I have to resort to buying something you can get it for as little as $67...

or go HDTV with freeview decoder for abot $167. Colleagues at work rate the hauppauge stuff:

I think I might buy the latter as I can use it on the lappie ongoing (get Media Centre or a freeware clone working on the lappie to record the shite programs I'm never going to watch ). We'll see what others respond, then yeah, if I can get one I'll loan ya.

Yes, I have done this before, but all I did was to plug the jack cables from the video into the analogue TV card on my computer.

You can buy the same for a laptop, plus you also get to record any TV programs you like.

FWIW I have dubbed from a VHS machine to a hard drive recorder successfully. With the exception of Disney VHS tapes which seem to have a non record feature somehow.
