    Question FXR swingarm swap

Ok, I have been thinking about undertaking a swingarm swap on the FXR for a GSXR250 swingarm (that I just happen to have in the shed) for the following reasons:

    • Shit load lighter reducing unsprung wieght
    • The swing arm is actually a match for the rear wheel I am running
    • I have seen a number of FXR shocks turn into over glorified pogo sticks and I may be able to fit a fancier shock
    • Because I (think I) can

I am sure I have more reasons, but you get the idea.

I am reading Tony Foale's book "Motor Cycle Handling and Chassis Design" to get a feel for some of the thing I need work out regading linkage locaions, shock lenghts etc. but thought I would ask here as well.

Is there anything obvious problems I may have over looked in my eagernes and is there anything in general that I should be reading paying attention?

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

Not sure on the in/outs but should prove interesting,For no other reason than they can i guess a few on the TL forum have with some clever work fitted up ST Triumph sssa using Ducati shocks which seem to work well.Good luck and a few progress pics etc would prove a good read.
