    Josh Brooks Crash

Just found this clip of Josh Brooks, he got a 2 race ban for it, prob because he was already in the shit for taking out someone on a warmup lap a few races earlier lol

Actually a few years back Josh got smoked on a start by an out of control backmarker and broke his pelvis. He had just signed a WSS deal after winning PI as a wild card and lost it all, took a few 3 years to get back there. maybe he is just hell bent on revenge!

humpty dumpty sat on a wall and all fall down.

brook's has always been a bit wild. this was a dumbarse mistake really. His first screw up is dubious cause he claims brake failure.

guy seems like hes got some good speed but spends too long looking in the mirror trying to be cool.

Slightly missed his braking point eh, a little bit focused on passing and not on braking.
Looked like skittles at the fair.

I'm trying to figure out how 5 other riders fell off because of it!! It's almost like there was something on the track! (although Josh's crash was pure rider cock up)

I wonder if they were watching Josh and forgot there was a corner in front lol. Seems a very strange series of events to me.

WTF?! He beat the best in the world as a 21 year old to win the WSS round at Phillip Island, I think the first wildcard to ever win a WSS round was said at the time. Then comes back from a broken pelvis (after a backmarker/yellow flag incident going over the hill at Wanneroo) to win both Oz Supersport and Superbike titles in 2005. 6th at Suzuka 8hrs too.

He's a hugely talented rider who hasn't quite managed to score the ride his talents deserve (until the HM Plant gig) but rather than do a Melandri/Ducati and just circulate he's still tried to get the best from what he's got.

As for looking in the mirror too much, have you had a look at his mug? I think he gave up lookin' in the mirror a long time ago, LOL.

I may have screwed up here but I reckon 'a bit wild' is harsh, he's a tryer, and that's more than you can say for some of the other racers waiting for payday.

I think he ended up with a 2-4 race ban after the enquiry and has been before the stewards a few times because of dodgy moves.

Over riding the bike, trying too hard, very thick red mist????

he had the stiggy supersport machine last year. thats certainly a competitive machine. He raced ok on it but was rather hot and cold. but he always did lots of wanky shit all the time, esp. on the grid.

i wasn't questioning if he was fast. i was merely saying it often appears that he had other things on his mind when he should probably be thinking about racing.

I don't understand why he got a ban, he cocked up but nobody does that deliberately !!!
He managed to do 22 laps and be at the front so must have some clue as to how to get round that corner !! He only took out one bike and both of those were of the track when the rest crashed ?

    Two observations:
1/ It was a very good demonstration of how suddenly bikes slow down when braking and how far and fast they keep going once the tyres leave the ground !!

2/ The red flag rule they use is different to ours, if our rule had been in place the positions would have been taken back to the lap BEFORE the red flag and I think most would have been a LOT happier. Seven riders who got DNF would have been in the points.

From what the Steward said they freeze the positions at the time of the red flag and anyone not mobile is DNF, must be a bit hard to call especially when it was so difficult for the flag marshall to get the flag unfurled in the wind !!!

I like our red flag rule except the person that caused the crash shouldnt still get scored!

.... i like the rule we have now, its the only reason I have any points in the VMCC 600 series......

Seriously though i think if you crash out you should not be in the results when the race is red flagged.
The older i get the faster i used to be.......
