Are We 'Running Out'? ** Oil crises

I only glimpsed at ol' john'y last night with his rant about conservation and what not. but this morning I got this link from a friend thats quite, sensationalist but intresting. some quotes:

Many geologists expect that 2005 will be the last year of the cheap-oil bonanza, while estimates coming out of the oil industry indicate "a seemingly unbridgeable supply-demand gap opening up after 2007," which will lead to major fuel shortages and increasingly severe blackouts beginning around 2008-2012.
Global oil discovery peaked in 1962 and has declined to virtually nothing in the past few years. We now consume 6 barrels of oil for every barrel we find.

Damn, do you remember when the worst thing to worry about was someone sending you a goatse.cx link?
I only posted this because of the global economic crisis

Personaly I think all this is just hype from the oil companies to drive prices. Notice how all the studies are done by scientist employed by these companies? And if it is true then it's time the car companies stop holding back the electric car or vehicles powered by alternate means. Although it'll be funny when some new guy makes one and starts to sell it and all the curent big names go bankrupt becouse they wern't smart enough to plan for the future.

I remember hearing stories of people who have managed to make engines run on anything else, and as soon as they go public with it, oil companies and car companies run it into the ground to make it go shhhhhhh..
Last one I heard of was some dude managed to get a wankle engine (don't you just love that word..?) to run on little more than water.. no idea how etc, but wasn't long until he was shut up..

If it's the one I think it is then it's not the whole country. Texas and Alaska have thier own oil.

Some interesting reading.. who knows if it's real though.
Even if 80% of the stuff on that site could be bullcrap, it's still scary.

Half the oil that *was* in the ground is now used: the half that remains is now harder to get. That means the cost of getting it goes up. Every dollar spent by oil companies to get oil returns less money back to them.

My brother works around the world in the oil industry so I guess he would know (as he analyses what the wells bring up).

The lack of oil has consequences beyond petrol and diesel. Lots of products are manufactured that use oil somewhere along the process. Apparently plastic is one.

Latest Info On The Microwave Vertical Array
    ELF Towers Being Erected Countrywide

[Editor's Note: The info you are about to read was posted today (May 25, 2002) by Don Croft. The explanation for the ELF towers discussed below from the anonymous source makes perfect sense to me. I had already learned from Sterwart Swerdlow that the kickoff date for the NWO takeover was supposed to have been year 2000, but the date was pushed up to 2003 due to unforseen obstacles impeding the agenda; gun control in America being one of them. It's worthwhile to note from the anonymous writer that Kevlar suits, lined with lead, can effectively block these ELF waves and prevent brain entrainment. Don Croft is convinced that the presence of DOR (Wilhelm Reich's acronym for Deadly Orgone energy) is necessary for these mind control towers to work. Don maintains that an orgone generating device called a Holy Handgrenade can transmute DOR into the more positive, life affirming form of orgone called "OR" by discoverer Wilhelm Reich. Don and his wife feel that removing the DOR component from the environment of an ELF tower, will mitigate the mind control function. He may be right. I can't say for sure, but it's worth your time to at least read about this easy-to-build orgone generator and acquaint yourself with the topic. I have seen the effectiveness of another orgone generating device, the Chembuster, to disperse and clear the sky of chemtrails. Many people have reported that the Chembuster can break up chemtrails and return the sky to a normal color of blue.
The picture was of a cell tower...

ALL research is done by someone with a vested interest. The collegiate pure research University is dead, thanks to governments becoming capitalist, corporate t crossers, and i dotters. No research is undertaken without the potential for wealth generation. Einstein's Theory of General Relativity wouldn't be published or studied if it was released today.

There is nothing to notice here. Move along, and remember to consume everything that is advertised to your demographic.

Unless as you said in the bit I took out someone stood to make money off of it. Anyone know when that EMP thing from "escape from L.A." will be invented?

Too true. But let's not forget that Einstein published his papers during his spare time. He was turned down jobs with industry, universities, even as a school teacher. He was 'mearly' a patents clerk. There's hope for us all yet!! But had he worked for industry, you're right, they would have claimed the theory for themselves under some IPR clause, copyrighted them, and then shelved them until they thought they, and only they, could make money out of them.

But they wouldn't because it is pure theoretical work, with absolutely no practical application. Think of the frame of reference of 1903, with none of the subsequent technologies that have been inspired by tangential reference to relativity. Or think of the work done to unravel the structure of DNA. The practical application of genetics (or it's evil twin, eugenics) was already in place prior to the greater understanding that lead to the unravelling of the Human Genome 50 years after the chemical and molecular structure of DNA was documented. No modern university would let Crick, et al, waste lab resource to the extent they did (in modern terms) without a business plan, and a guaranteed ROI.

We are getting everything we deserve for worshipping at the false idol of rampant capitalism. For establishing a culture of inherently selfish consumerism. We produce so much stuff that money is essentially pointless. But the virtual value of a corporate body is the way that the small-dicked CEO's of modern corporates measure their own personal "success". So the cycle continues to make sure that the next generation of accountants with management degrees can feel fulfilled.

Absolutely true, but the ideal of the collegiate university was still very much in evidence at the turn of the 20th century. There was still room for ideas and theories that were only interesting to a few very large brains. Or for doing stuff just "because". Universities are now profit centres with departments that compete with each other for funds based on the amount of wealth they generate, either by stealing the odd money generator from a student, or by sheer volume of students.

Almost every major theory/discovery and revelation made during the relatively short period that mankind has been capable of communication, therefore enabling them to study the universe around us, have been made by 'freelancers'.

What I mean by this is individuals who were either rich enough to have shit loads of spare time on their hands just to 'think' (and get high on NOS and other chemicals. Not forgetting the large number of them who died while testing out their discoveries , particularly the newly discovered chemicals which several famous scientists insisted on tasting!), worked for government funded research communities or just studied the world around them in their own spare time. Surprisingly enough, some of the most important discoveries of our time were made by a single group of individuals that regularly used to get pissed together (such as Darwin, Haley and co) in physics (for gay boys in the early days) or geology (for real men) clubs, without any hindrance from corporate fuckwits.
