Depends on whether the group of women are geese or not

Sometimes it's a 'whine' and other times it's a 'bitch & moan'. Most of the time it's pretty good though

Here's me about to reel off my hard won knowledge of how to survive working from home and you're working in warehouse with seven girls? Shit man, pull finger and get to know them. If they're gossiping all day they're talking about something - treat it as a form of travel, get to know the natives.

i did a few weeks packing kiwifruit. there were maybe 10 of us, but talking was NOT permitted except on breaks. even saying hi was frowned upon. sucked big time. i relied on my ipod so much for the few weeks i lasted. if im going to be stuck in silence, id rather not be surrounded by people i could be joking with. they were cunts anyways... us non smokers were the ones who had to go outside as we were the minority. so we started "whispering" about letting someone in the employees rights area know about them smoking inside. things got changed pretty bloody quick.

i do think prolonged solitude has an effect on the brain. when i go down south, its a two week trip with no one to talk to except shop/hotel people, or people on the street. when i get back, i have to readjust to conversation. i dont know that i could be like that for much longer. gets very lonely.

I spend a bit of time alone, the radio is enough to last me through the day then i go round to a mates place after dinner.

I find the majority of people are a pain in the arse and would rather go without them.

ah.... its not that bad , just wanted to know if anyone else shares these same feelings,

    thanks guys
There's your biggest problem! News is so pessimistic, it's no wonder people suffer depression! It's all about how bad the economy is, how many people die in car crashes, how bad global warming is etc... Who cares, what is you knowing about 99% of that shit going to achieve? Nothing other than a mind set of "what's the point of living, the worlds so bad",

Listen to some music you like, and enjoy yourself, go talk the the girls there (even if you don't like them) at the worst if you REALLY don't like them, just give them shit and take the piss out of them and joke around.

yeah funny that, i dont take anything to heart from the radio, and lets me know whats going on round the world, i only listen to "lieghton smith" then at 1200 switch to "the rock.

I kind of work with a bunch of people. But then have an office on my own...no windows and often no interaction unless I make the effort to head downstairs abuse a customer or staff member.

Actually so quiet I am missing the abusive customers that used to head up to my domain and swear at me. Now thats sad.

    NEVER listen to Newstalk ZB!

1, have sex with as many of your co-workers as possible
2, have sex with their friends
3, insert actual constructive ideas here..

I don't know if any of the above will help, but at least every time you look at some of them you will get that little "ahahaha yeah I know what you look like naked" smile. Works for me..

finding myself turning into a bit of a hermit, loosing my sense of humour.
    feeling bit down...

whenever someone does come to talk they "try to think of something to say,
which usaly results in them saying something stupid meaning i usaly give a pretty smug answer making me look like a weirdo.

i used to laugh and joke, is there any long term effects?

i work in a warehouse down stairs from sales, im the only guy of 7 girls,
dont relate to any and they all love to gossip and stir crap,
Your basic personality is an "extrovert" and as such you feel uncomfortable in your current work situation!

Extroversion--Introversion is not right or wrong it is just a fact, it is just who/what you are!

If you can't adjust, you should leave, or your environment will eventually make you sick! (physically and mentally)

Yes. Change jobs. Otherwise you'll end up with the social skills of an ex pat Scotsman. The "coming across as smug or sarcastic" thing is bang on the mark BTW.
