Geebuz, now ya need a phD to go tag hunting
Geebuz, now ya need a phD to go tag hunting
screw the algebra i think i know were this is, will have a look on my way to work tonight and post it up in the morning if im right, unless someone gets it first
You guys complained enough about the clue I gave for my last tag.
Who can be bothered play now with these clues.
He who dies with the most toys.

Nice method of giving clues
But my assumption that each variable was a single digit is obviously wrong; my brute force solution based on that gave only one answer, and I'm pretty sure it's not the right one
And no, I'm not going to spend the rest of the night riding in order to claim it, anyway ... not this time

Okay, fair cop. That was a bit on the nose. Here's how I would attack it.
Assumptions:
1. All digits must be positive
2. All letters are single digits
a. substitute (2) into (1) to get
(5) a+2c+2e=29
b. rearrange (3) to make a the subject to get
(6) a=c-e
c. substitute (6) into (5) to get
(7) 3c+e=29
d. by (2) c+e must equal less than 15 so two possible solutions for (7)
either (c,e)=(8,5) or (9,2) lets go with (8,5) first.
e. by (6) we know that a=3 and from (2) we get b+d=13. Make d the subject and get
(8) d=13-b
f. substitute (8) into (4) to get
(9) c+13-b=2b
g. solve (9) to get b=7. solve (8) to get d=6
a=3 b=7 c=8 d=6 e=5
-40.ab0cd,175.ec00bd becomes -40.37086,175.580076
check it at http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?q=-40.37086,+175.580076
Note 1: carefully interpret where the point is in relation to the street address Google suggests.
Note 2: gps coordinates may be several meters out so cast around the area
Note 3: if this assumption for (c,e) was incorrect then try the other pair
It's the weekend - I don't want to have to think!
The race is on...............
o man, i just had ur clue half done!
