L-Plate Rider
Just had a new rear tyre fitted to my Magna and im noticing a vibration through the rear of the bike. I can only notice when im in gear at speed and decelerating, the higher the speed the worse it gets. (only been up to 110kph..)
But (and this is the worrying bit) putting the clutch in almost elimiates in vibration completely.
Can't take it back to the shop i got the tyre changed at until the weekend....
Thoughts?

Check the easy stuff - wheel alighnment marks and chain tension.

If its a slow vibration say 5 hz your chain might be stuffed, and not have constant pitch any more.

some tires are so crap that they will not balance. is it a name brand ?

tyre, bearings,alignment,fitment,chain,sprocket
they can all play factors
even a warped disk will cause vibration
plastic fabricator/welder here if you need a hand ! will work for beer/bourbon/booze

I work in Riverhead during the day.
Taking the car until the weekend until ive had a chance to have it looked at, just in case eh!
The limit of my skills and my backyard parking is to check the chain (which is 2 months old) and its at the correct tension and running true, also nothing seems loose or marked.
As for the tyre its an off the shelf brand. IRC.Nobody had a Dunlop in stock!

check to see that the chain is on the sprocket straight
if it isint the spacers are in the wrong order

Cheers Hayd3n, yeah ive gone through that process and everything seems true and solid.
No brake disk on the back, so thats not causing it either....

I asked, as I was up in Auckland doing service repair yesterday, ( I am on the road doing home repair work often in the Auckland area) and was going to offer FOC to come around and check it out for you.
Good idea re using your car though mate, safer is better, even if it is a tin top

So i managed to get to the shop yesterday and the prognosis was that chain wasn't on the sprocket staight (looked fine to me?!) and the wheel balance was slightly out.
Thankfully nothing major and of course didn't cost me anything but time.
Better to be safe than sorry thou.
