Its harder to lose weight than gain horsepower.

I think the grin on my mug when I came in from practice said it all. It's a bit peaky, not much happens under 7k where it comes alive, and I need to concentrate on keeping the revs up, much like my FXR which is strong above 8k. Infact apart from the extra weight and grunt it's not so much different to the FXR, just gotta remember not to wind on the power too early out of the hairpin - gave myself a wee fright there The two should compliment each other well given the similarity - no real mind shift between bikes.
Both bikes are known quantities and the only reason either of them were not further up the feild on Sunday is down to the pilot, so the pilot has gotta get his act together and the extra track time/experience/confidence/relaxing etc will help. Any advice greatly appreciated. Cheers.
It was cool to see you enjoying it. Nothing worse than selling a bike and it not be used or enjoyed. Look at it this way, with double the track time your riding will improve twice as fast. To be honist that bike should go better in the mid range, with a decent tune you may find it becomes easier to ride. It was a engine that lived at redline only because thats the only power it produced.
