    Hi there. Welcome to KB!!

I would strongly urge you to contact Andrew & Lynne at Roadsafe

    www.roadsafe.co.nz

& book in to do a refresher course!! Given that you have been off bikes for some time & are now riding 2 very powerful missiles.. it would be VERY beneficial for you to update yourself

Proper cornering, counter-steering, proper braking technique & emergency braking, hazard avoidance, & slow speed control are some of the main topics.

I have been participating in & helping to run the courses here in Nelson for the past 4 years now & to be honest.. it is very scary seeing the level of skill (or serious lack of it) when people first start practicing the above topics. It is a completely different story when they leave the course however (thank god!!!!!). Their competence & confidence have improved dramatically. They can do a very effective & safe emergency stop. Their chances of having an accident are significantly reduced.. & they go home grinning from ear to ear!!

As do I.. knowing those 40 people we trained over the weekend.. are now SO much safer on the road!!!!!!

Having all the good flash namby gear might save your skin & bones.. but good TRAINING might save your life!!!

Cheers and thanks for the warm welcome.

I kept my skills up with rentals and borrows over the barren years, and re-entered on a GSX600F which was almost immediately 'not enough' to keep me happy hehe

Been back on road since Feb when I got the 600, but only had the Gixxer for 8 weeks and the Duke for 2, and ride in/out of city daily for work

And yep I spent some time on the Taka's this weekend on both bikes...musta crossed 6x.... seeing the weather was perfect!
Met a great bunch of Duke owners (and others) on hilltop too.
