    Things to watch with fxr150s

    Its 5 weeks to the next auckland bucket meeting so i {and others im guessing} are starting to do some serious work on our bikes.

    what sort of issues do you guys have that should try fix now before racing comes and it breaks?????....ive only just started coming the the front pack and i dont want to lose that.

    just ordered a tail section from hazzard {thanks mate} and im planning on painting the bike MOTOGP rilza suzuki racing colours {light blue and gold}

    you need to check the oil and tyre pressure

    You also have to check there is petrol in the tank, and that you turn the fuel on...

    With FXRs the vanes on the water pump have a tendency to break, better check them.

    Actually if its sitting 5 weeks Id be turning that fuel tap off.

    Also a major modification that is required for all FXR150's would be the nylon wings like on my bike. You see because there is so much damn power, the front end wants to lift up at 250km/h so the nylon wings use the wind resistance to keep the front end down! They also stop the tank and clip ons from getting smashed to hell when crashing.

    Check you don't strip the tank mount threads when you're removing and replacing the tank all the time.

    Good point though, I just drilled through the captive nuts with a 6.5MM drill and put some bolts through from the bottom. Use a nut on top to secure the bolts, then you have 2 little studs to mount the tank on with...

    Here's another one. The grease they use in the steering head bearings on some FXR's is shite. It turns into yellow glue. Replace it with some good stuff.
