    Natural selection?

This article really made me wonder...

Gawd. Forty metres....obviously dressed for the occasion as well...hoodie and gumboots...

[stir] Darwin would be proud - except a 25 year old from Hamilton has probably already got half-a-dozen kids.......

    By half-a-dozen "baby mommas"
    [/stir]

    That should do it.

I knew I should stop saying to people "Oi you! Outa the gene pool". That one took it seriously.

That's actually a good point; someone's loved baby has gone and got themselves drunk as a skunk, done something stupid (to impress mates/whoever) and paid the ultimate price.

    Sympathy for the parents.

We all do/have done dumb shit at times but to have a fatal repercussion really brings it home. Being a parent you can't begin to understand what that phone call means until it happens.

I hope I never get it.

Same thing happened last year. Group of drunks walk across bridge one decides to jump when the others aren't looking. They get caught up in the weeds then a few weeks later they drift free and end up on the river bank several hundred metres down stream. Walked across these bridges many a time whilst drunk but never had the urge to jump!

40m thats quite a bit of height, still not impossiable to survive, unless its like 2m water depth!
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

Sad eh? Friends out and about having a bit of a hoot, few bevies, no harm done, they were walking not driving. Then one of them got a bit of a brainwave and decided to see if he could fly. What a terrible price to pay for a moment of sheer stupidity.

Sad the fact he has killed himself being an idiot, sadder that his friends were also too wasted to stop him from being a dick, sadder still for his Mother, she does not even have a body to bury.

I doubt there would be many of us on here that can hand on heart say they have not done something incredibly stupid in their youth, that could have cost a life. The fact that we are here now is testimony to very good luck and most likely some very good mates as well.

Yes a really friggen stupid thing to do, one I never would have ever considered an option even in the messiest of states, but he paid dearly for it.

BTW, he took his gumboots off before he "bombed" into the river.
