Now the rep system has cause some debate over the years..
should we de-restrict it, because it does and means nothing?

I'm assuming you mean remove the 'you must spread....blah blah' etc?
It seems the only time I get red is when someone has confused me with YamahaR64life or their partner isn't putting out.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.
haha, well, de restrict it as in un-police it
Two thoughts come to mind.
What is wrong with the rep system that makes you want it changed?
And secondly, if it was changed could be be more easily abused?

As usual it's only a small minority that cause problems on it and I'm not going to remove a feature just because of them.
It's not the rep system that's at fault. There are people who think that they can use it to pass snide comments at other KB members, and of course they can and do. However rep traffic can be monitored by Senior Moderators and Site Administrators, just as a warning to those who didn't know that. People have been infracted for misuse of the rep system, some repeatedly so.
What is generally common is that those who dish out abusive rep prove to be the biggest sooks when it comes to somebody giving it back to them.
It's like a fucking kindergarten at times. Wah wah wah.
The rep system is part of what makes Kiwi Biker Kiwi Biker. There are just a few wankers and whingers who can't figure out how to play with it properly. They just need to grow up and harden up, which ever comes first I don't mind.
