Most of these bikes in NZ are imports ex Japan, so they don't come with a manual - if any other KBers need this manual, spark me a PM and I'll help you out.

Hmm, I'm currently on the verge of buying either a VTR250 or a Bandit 250. Leaning towards the bandit though, cos it's a grand cheaper.
Anyway, do you have an electronic version of this Bandit manual online somewhere?
    Cheers,
    Sam.

    Post Honda VTR250

Don't know if anyone has posted an English manual for the 1996-2002 VTR250 yet or not, but if so I couldn't find it.
Anyway, YAY! I found one online, after quite a few unsuccessful google searches.
Here's the link to the PDF:

Cool. You can get it in Japanese from the honda.co.jp site too, but that's not good for those of us who aren't fluent in written Japanese

Sorry mate but I got rid of it when I sold my DRZ, although there is a fairly good chance Ive got it on my back up external hdd. Id have to have a hunt through it and there is about 80GB of stuff on the 250GB drive so it might take awhile. I do know where the cbr600/1000rr manuals are along with several others, so hopefully it'll be there also. I do know that the link I downloaded it from in the first place disappeared not long after I used it. Although there could be more sources to download now. Have a go at searching for it and if all else fails PM me and I'll have a good search for it on the back up drive.

Yes 4 strokes are for homos. Homo-sapiens that is, who have realized bigger is better.

Thumbs up Honda VTR250 full SERVICE workshop manual!

Yay, further to the link to the owner's manual posted above, here is a working link to download the service manual for the VTR250.
And it's for the NZ/Aust/Jap one from 97 onwards too, not the old USA one.

Honda VTR250 Workshop Manual or Service Manual

    Hope that's useful

Welcome to the site Wayne ?? Hopefully someone will be able to help you with your delema. You could try posting in the "General Maintenance" thread too asking how to remove the seat. On the GN I recall it was by removing 2 bolts at the back of the seat, but your's could be completely different.
What year is it? ... And of course you could always ride down to see Boyds. A little bit of info wont cost you anything
