Honda GB (400 or 500) speedo drive thingie on the front wheel

Are you sure it's the drive thingy that's knacked and not just a tab washer kind of bit. Had similar problem on the XJR.

I'm not sure, I would like to just take it apart once so will get the whole lot if its not too expensive. I know its not the cable or the speedo unit itself.

So will it probably be the "speedo drive" that needs relacing?

I only asked cos the washer on mine sits between the wheel and the drive unit, and cost next to nothing once I figured out what was wrong. It's got a couple of tabs bent at 90degrees which drive the drive unit.
Oh, and if the tabs are broke, a new drive unit won't help.
