Errrr... Sorry dudes. I took a last look at this thread and since no one had shown interest, I assumed it wasn't on.

Yep, the Welly crew are definetly cooler than us!

Its the 14th. something must happen....

well actually. saterday would be better. I have to get a new chain on my bike. I dont want to be on a dangerous bike around other bikers. cagers is hokay.

    since theres nothing planned.

    what about.

Get flubber (afternoon tea sounds pansy) and ride over the waitakres to the beach and back.
    sat from 3pm

Saturdays/Sundays (or whatever) are for organised rides. The monthly meet isn't supposed to be an organised ride, it's supposed to be a social occasion.

Hence ideas like pool, bowling etc...

Anyone up for skeet shooting? Awesome fun to see that little orange thing turn into talcum powder as 12 Guage hits it a 1,000 feet per second. There is something immenseley satisfying about it...

Before the weather turns... Wednesdays and Saturdays are practice days, I'm a newbie and keen for a go... done it one time before and it is brilliant! (About $25 bucks all up from memory...). Gun not needed - they have them there, I'll need to check on requirement for licence...

It's up Old North Road (near Kumeu), which is AWESOME fun on the bike. I'd sugest meeting up at the Old Albany Pub, head across to the gun club, have a shoot, a pint or two then carry on our separate ways!

Either that or put down a hangi or something...

Whatever is actually chosen (be it my or other ideas) I'll HELP organise it but I won't do everything...

    PM me if needed

Definately be up for some skeet shooting. Usually they provide the o&u shotties, I got a pump action that hardly ever gets used - wouldn't mind making sure that action still works

Just found out earlier today it will get even less use, no shooting agreement has been signed on the lease between the property owner and the grazier. Damn graziers... bah!

They have a bar at the range... and they play it safe (of course).... re drunkenness...

As for hard to hit - yes, but only to start with. They make it easier by throwing the clays straight out in front to start with so you only have the "up/down" bit to work out... then they'll start helping with the side side stuff once you can do it better.

I shot at 25 targets last time, and got the last 10 in a row (no natural, they just made it easier as outlined above).

BLOODY GOOD FUN and bring your earmuffs.

I'll ring and see if they could handle 5 or 10 bods showing up on a Saturday...

    Watch this space...

They provide a semi auto and you chamber one round at a time (to start with anyway)...

No good having your shooting restricted on you like that... need to find some more (I've got 7 extra ducks at my place... but point blank range might not be too humane... or maybe it would... just EXTRA messy!
