Think you'll find the "winterless north" is roughly Kaitaia & above. Last winter it was reported by the met service that at about 1:30am they recorded 21 degree's. A freak wind off the pacific
Hey hey hey...we maybe now 35 mins north of the bridge (thanks to the tunnels) but a burb of Auckland?

Rodney is where we live, yeah yeah dumb name I know, soon to part of the Super City though damn it.

It always struck me as strange that there was such a gaping hole in the demographic up there.
But I guess it's also related to the fact that most business owners up there seemed to charge Auckland prices (or more in some cases such as cars) on half the overheads.
True on the demographic but business wise over the years I have been hammered on freight cost's & big city rents. Income is very seasonal too which makes it hard to be competitive when cost's never go down. I may look at selling cars though.... Bugger it. I'm off for a hoon.

Speaking of gay names, have you seen that road sign up your way?

    "You are now entering Rodney"

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

Ha ha. Here's ANOTHER gay thing about Rodney, you guys inherited Roger Kerr Newel from us here in the Naki, a lot of people were glad to see the backside of that clown

Paihia/BOI/Kerikeri rents yes..... But I was talking about Whangarei which is not a tourist mecca* so rents are not to bad at all.

*And going by the insanity of moving the tourist information center out of town to SH1 miles from town so that there is no actual need to enter Whangarei itself, I'm guessing that it doesn't want to ever encourage the tourist cash cow to enter town. :slap:
