Can do 100, but no more.... Gets to 100 faster than many cars, but not fast enough to pass.....

    Anyhow, back to the OP.

I haven't personally had this happen to me but I get cut off by cagers all the time.
The last time this happened the guy (in the wanked up subaru) looked at me in his mirror and laughed! I then picked my gap and whipped past him while scraping my metal toe sliders along his passenger door. I find this works to vent frustration when the cagers being a blatant wanker.

Have you called his company and told them that they have a problem driver on the road.

First of all, well done for having the brains to get out of the way. Believe it or not, some bikers are dumb enough not to thinking that they have the right of way. No matter what type of vehicle your using, or someone else is using, there are enough vehicles and people (some are idiots, but you should all know this) that there are plenty of idiots (even idiots that didnt see the bike, didnt look well enough, thought it was something on the side of the road due to the lay of the land or thought that because you was riding on the left side of your lane) in each type of vehicle. Therefore when your riding your bike, there actually are people out there who are trying to kill you. If you dont ride your said bike like everyone is trying to kill you, you run the risk of not seeing the idiot come along in their vehicle (they are hard to spot because their vehicles look the same as many others) and splat, your the fly squashed on the windscrean. Irrelevant on who's fault it would have been, the biker is allways the idiot for not seeing the other idiot and not getting out of the way. My suggestion to all here is those who dont like this fact, give up riding motorbikecycles and take up knitting. Here endith the lession, for those who are a little sloooooow.

As I deal with truck drivers everyday at work and mention to then the situation you faced on the dessert road etc

they know who it was and they aren't happy about the driver's actions he may be better off if the get him before they catch up with him but with CB's and RT links news travels fast

By far the majority of truckies are professionals of the road, in my long sojourns they have always been courteous, considerate and very skilled at their profession. Watching them guide their monstrous loads of lethality with elan and skill is quite entertaining and breath taking at the same time.

They know if there is a biker behind and everytime, for me, they have indicated, pulled over a bit when they knew it was safe for me to pass. All times of the day or night, in the wee hours of the night, often it is just the trucks and me on my Big Ol'Hornet ... biggest and smallest on the road

As for the aberrant and deadly pugilist that you encountered, glad you decided not to challenge on the matter head to head!

I usually find truckies to be pretty considerate of bikers, but when driving home from work recently I did find one of the worst drivers around. He was ahead of me but I knew a passing lane was coming up so I planned to get past him then. However, he decided to use the uphill passing lane himself to pass another truck, meaning no one else got past him. I was watching his driving and thinking "what a fuckwit" as he was really erratic - moving from one side of his lane to the other and tailgating the vehicles in front. I got past him at the next passing lane but had to go over the limit to do so as he was doing 100kph. He then proceeded to sit so close behind me (there were other vehicles a few car lengths in front of me) I couldn't see his number plate. I managed to get the rego when we pulled up at the lights in Levin (couldn't get it when behind him as the trailer unit plate was illegible) and he was driving a truck for one of the trucking firms so I checked for their contact details when I got home and emailed them. I got a response from the GM the following day, apologising and saying he would be having a meeting with the driver that afternoon and he would be left in no doubt that his actions were not acceptable. He even emailed me the following day to say the guy had been given a warning and told he was driving a mobile billboard for the company and that kind of behaviour would not be tolerated. Better than *555 and a slap on the hand with a wet bus ticket.

Seen it happen many times where a cager has gone and passed a truck, only to slow it down as the cager isn't familiar or scared of the road. Obviously there are exceptions on sections of road like the Kaimais or northern end of the Desert Road. Momentum is the key, and I'll bet most of those brain dead cagers don't even realise they're in a passing lane until the truck ahead of them has already pulled out to pass. When they do realise, they'll sit in the right lane and take the whole fucking passing lane to overtake, not giving a fuck on what/who is in their mirror, so the rear truck wouldn't have a shit show after letting brain dead cagers pass. If I had a dollar for everytime I've seen that, I'd be a happy man, so I don't blame the truckies for doing that.
Every time it has happened with me,I've thought here we go,he'll pull out and take the lane, always happens, and the car being an XR6 has enough grunt to go from 90km,kick down into 2nd and pass quickly.Sure a few lanes are types where the truck has got momentum say down a slight hill and goes for it,but maybe a quick look in mirrors and if 5 cars are there wait, then if he travels the route will know where next lane is.

Had a great view one day heading through Awakino to Hamilton, caught up to 3 trucks, think 2 from Mainfreight, other HookerPacific(from NP),the Hooker truck passed both M/F trucks,I had tagged onto end of line, the trucky saw me,indicated for me to pass, this area is Ladies Mile(mile long straight),so managed to pass safely,he even reduced speed to let me in,but with clear road I also passed the other M/F rig as well no dramas and great road sense, the Hookers was gone lol 500hp helped.

Maybe a few idiot car drivers who when seeing a passing lane need helping in their thought process. How often do you see one car pass, then like sheep about 4 cars all decide to pass, therefore passing lane finishes and cars everywhere.Have seen that happen driving dads truck, and with calves or horses tend to travel within speed limit,as he tends to get pissed if animals get hurt.

I can't say I've every had a driving type run in with a truckie but I did filter past one in the traffic, stopped at lights 100 metres away from him and copped a mouthful of abuse for doing so. Even over the ground shaking cacophony of my duke I heard every word. If I had been in the position to mouth off back I probably would have (right or wrong).

Just ended up feeling sorry for him really, bad day or jealousy maybe? It must have been hard to be an ugly, fat, bald loser and be passed by an obviously virile, sexy and modest human being on a totally lusty bike.

Everyone has bad days and makes a bad call here and there. My missus and I were on a poker run in Orks a few years ago and a truckie pulled into our lane close to the top of Johnson's Hill (just south of Puhoi) just at the wrong time. He nearly clocked the bikes in front of us; my missus clipped a temporary (swivel-mounted) post in the centre of the road, breaking off her r/h footpeg. I saw what was going down and switched lanes, avoiding the truck but taking out my l/h peg on another post and fucking my left foot for ages. (Walking stick and all for a while.) Lucky nothing was on-coming.

I don't know for sure if this was deliberate or not, but it wasn't good road manners. However, things like this are not common in my experience; most truckers are ok and I'm sure they have tales to tell about bikers.
