ISP's throttle the speed to certain sites, usually in peak hours, but sometimes all day. Youtube is a prime example.

I did note that Vimeo or something that Beyond put a video up on was able to stream rather happily.

Real Player works for me.

What so you use to download web videos?

Some web browsers have it built in, and there are websites that will send you the video as a file if you give it the ID of the video. Anything but god awful realplayer.
