That sucks Graham mate, only been there once (so far) did about 5,000k, never stopped once, in fact I think I only saw one Mountie on the whole trip. Does sound like they're trying to log a few credits.
What gives with the road works speed limits ? I've got no problem at all sticking to 30 where people are working, I've done plenty of jobs on the side of the road and it's entirely justified IMO but no one seems to do the speed limit at all, I've been tail gated by frustrated drivers and even overtaken through the cones, Is there some unwritten rule that you only have to obey the limits if there is actually work going on or are by the people working?
I think you were just on the road at a bad time kid, glad you enjoyed the skiing though, Pix please.![]()
Oh bugger
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
I reckon those who carry on about ticket quotas being a fact, bring it upon themselves. Unless your doing shyte that you shouldnt be, then the NZ Police would just asquickly look at ya, go on by and then go on with what they was doing. The ones that are cause for concern will allways be the ones that they have to look at for longer, until they have a reason to pull them over. Ive "apparently" now got a vehicle thats classed as a boy ricer type vehicle and warrents a bit more attention now. On the drive to Palmy North from New Plymouth and back I must have had about 20 intances where I was being watched by big brother. Sure at times I was going slightly over the limit, I think the fastest I was going would have been 120 on the whole trip, passing a truckie with trailer, that was doing about 110. Not bad considering the truck and trailer should be doing 90 to let ever other bugger get by and in a timely manner. The really funny parts of the trip was when I came flying up behind a truck that was going past the Polce weigh bridge just by the airforce base. He had slowed down that quickly that the Police would have seen, if watching, all the traffic slow down quickly behind it. Then there was the blue falcooooon I was driving behind, that I had allready noticed it was undercover and Donna had disconnected the radar detector. Some twat in a truck which must have been on purpose, as he would have know it was there. It pulled out from a farm as we came up behind the truck and there was not enough room on the side of the road for him to get onto the verge. The falcoon nailed it, so I followed and we zapped past the truck doing the said 120ish. As I pulled in behind the falcooon I noticed the green camera van and Im guessing the coooooon did too, lol. They slowed down and everytime I came up behind the falcon again (I would slow down and give them a couple of hundred meter gap and get going again. Everytime I came back up behind them, (usually in a corner that I had gone around much faster than the AA road sign said) they would regularly tap their brake lights. In fact it was that uniform that it must have been a setting on the car. So this went on for about 50ish km and sure enough, they eventually turned off. Not once on my trip did I get stopped, even though I could have been at any given time. Quota system, yeah right! Sounds like a tui advert and the last time I looked at the NZ Police, they was busy doing their job and probably didnt even notice me.
Roger Cap-e-tan! Theres an 1810 with 3510 with 7510 happening here!!! It just ooks like alot of 1J and 1N to me!!!!![]()
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.
