Out in souf'dorkland where I repose in exile, I often get spoken to in a number of island languages, the person talking to me then gets quite irritated about the fact I am ignoring their felicitations for conversation.

It's only when I click and say "Sorry, I'm a New Zild born china man!" and then they realise, go red (I'm assuming this since the pigmentation of their skin is a little hard to discern such blushing) and then volte-face away!

And I have often been mistaken for a ninja and people shy away from me, I was at a GIJOE movie screening in my usual ninja garb and people were assuming I was meant to be doing something special for it!

I have also been mistaken for a chinaman at times also!

Long time no see. How ARE you, you're looking good. How's your wife ? (best if you've noticed said wife with him earlier). Still troubled with the old complaint ? (could be him or her - elderly people always have a 'complaint'). Look, really really good to see you again, give the good lady my regards, and we MUST get together properly soon, only I really HAVE to dash, frightfully late. Take care, now, gotta go".

Bash on the back and briskly depart, waving vigorously

Done with sufficient vigour and the victium doesn't get a word in edgeways and will spend the rest of the way fretting about who it was that he's forgotten. Alzheimers? OMG.

Well, I have to pass the time SOMEHOW.

A delightful variation is to do as above, THEN corral the victim's wife (having noted beforehand her appearance and where she went), with a "Hi, how ARE you, I just caught up with your other half. Wonderful to see you both again, and looking so WELL. Like I said to him, frantically late , but I COULDN'T rush off without just saying 'hi'. Do give me a bell, don't be strangers, I'll be expecting it. Got to rush, see you soon I hope".

later , they will compare notes. I wish I could be a fly on the wall then.
You don't? I'm stuck for words but something comes to mind...ballsy (spelling!) ball-sey...im sure if such a word exists...checked in the dictionary and 'bally' is there.

Somehow, so many (just too many at uni) Chinese students talk to me in Chinese.

Wheres mine then? I like hugs and no one here is stranger than me.

I seem to get people who think they know me and I haven't got a clue who they are. I must have one of those faces.

I tend to do this at train stations when I am about to meet someone for the first time. We dont have train stations up here, but maybe next time I am down your way and am at a train station, you will be too

Evil but a really fun game. My variation is to smile and wave at randoms. Or find a couple and say an enthusiastic hi to the lady without stopping.

    Bollocks.

You looked 100% Scots the last time I saw you.

I was following a Harley the other day down a narrow street with vehicles parked both sides. There was a truck parked up ahead, and the driver walked onto the road to get in and I thought "OMG he's going to swing his door open and hit that bike!" But the front rider honked loudly TOOT TOOT! and gave the truckie a big cheery wave. Truckie waved back and waited for us both to pass before opening his door.

I'm sure the biker didn't know the truckie, but it was a very effective way of getting his attention and much more positive than an angry HONK!

I bet the truckie spent the next few minutes wondering who that guy on the bike was.

What the fuck is a 'person'?

Ooops I meant to say I was following a Harley for about two minutes then I got sick of it and overtook him on the twisties like he was standing still!

(For a moment I forgot I was telling a story on KB... I think I got it right this time)

He probably was standing still, it's called 'waiting'.

Is a Volty an electric bike?
