Add the ZZR1100, ZX7 and GPz900R to that list. If it annoys me too much I pop the fuel cap to relieve the pressure.

Every Kwaka I've ever had does it. It's character.

I like that as a concept... "Kawasaki, proving that character doesn't have to mean an uncomfortable shit heap with dubious reliability and gheyarse oil leaks, since ages ago".

on my first decent ridout on my recently acquired zx10r, there seems to be a recurring whistling sound coming from the fuel tank when the engine is off. it lasts around 3-5 seconds, doesnt get louder, is constant. it sounds like air escaping from somewhere in the fuel system?

does anyone know what this is please?

It not a fault, it's not warranty it just what kawasakis do to vent the fuel tank. Have 5 in the shed they all do it, especially if left out in the sun, or if you are moving the bike, it will do it then cause you have disturbed the air in the tank It's all good. if it bothers you just open up the lid, it's no biggy.

Your putting to much coal in the boiler, full size steam engines do it to when come to a hault.
