Sri Lankan crowd sets fire to army motorbike

An angry crowd set fire to a Sri Lankan army motorbike after it knocked down a teenage girl.

The girl, Ms. Thushintha Vijayakumar, 15, was cycling when the army motorbike hit her, said witnesses. Police rushed to the scene to disperse the crowd and put out the fire. The injured girl was admitted to Hospital.

The two soldiers who were riding the bike were taken to the local police station for questioning.

So did the Police just leave the motorcycle at the site when they took the two soldiers riding the bike for questioning? If so, not realy surprised that the bike was torched.

Bike was torched before the police showed up. They probably impounded it or something like that.
