I always had the pull-it-to-bits part sorted, it's the put-it-back-together-in-a-way-that-doesn't-catch-fire part that gets me...

    yeh! ah dooo!.

Its such a traumatic thing to deal with...having the knack. Women want you for all the wrong reasons.... not for you or your body or you alpha male atributes.....but because you can fix the dish washer....and cause you are employable and dependable and will always be a dependable provider.... what that can do to a mans esteem.... waaaarggghhhhh!......(pull yerself together man...people are watching)

More than 40 years ago I was diagnosed with.... the "Knack", 35 years ago I was sentenced to work and work and work....and 27 years ago I became a....Gulp..."provider"...dependable strong responsi......dishwasher fixing...provider...sniff

35 years of constant work....no let ups...no being "let go" and sentenced to several weeks or months on the benifit (during the whitebait or salmon or sking season)....no those with the knack never get a letup, those with the knack are sentenced to a long hard life till they are knackered and the knack begins to slowly fade....and the mind and body fades till the knack is gone at which time the mind and body are so totally knacked the poor sufferer has no life in them left to enjoy....

And as he lays there on his death bed...and the light begins to fade...and time stretchs to the horizon as light follows the setting sun....the last words he understands in this world, is the nurse by the bed side saying to the doctor...shall I give him more oxygen? No, don't bother nurse...hes knackered!
