    If you want to get really clever, you can use your winbox as normal, but also run a Linux machine and have it serve apps to the winbox over X. This works quite well and you get all the advantages of native Linux apps, looking right at home on your windows desktop.

    Mozilla Thunderbird for email - have been very happy with it.
    Changed from Mozilla Firefox for internet to Safari. Firefox seemed to get bogged down and I had some user issues with it e.g. couldn't use rep system on my laptop with FF (earth shattering, I know). But with safari I have no holdups or problems.

    Firefox is great. Spell checking is like 3 clicks away (right click, add dictionary, download) and you're set. You can download ad blocking programs (no more adds) and a number of useful applications via mozilla's site (so they're tested). Firefox is secure.
