I've been on a couple of surfing holidays, including one round the Northland (excellent trip - highly recommend it) but I'm just too heavy to stand up on anything shorter than 9'. Although when I say stand up I mean wobble a bit then fall off.

If you want to see me moving in style, get me on snow!

that's been doing my head in- it would be awesome to figure out a way to get to surf, having arrived there by bike. the only place i'll get to do it is my folks- where i can leave a board perminantly at the beach and then drive there from AK.

Yeah, I'm having the same problem with skis and snowboard. I suppose I can use my leathers and helmet on the slopes but I don't fancy riding a bike in skiboots!

    Drive?

    You don't *drive* a bike.

    You ride it.

    Slap!

You remind me of a friend in England who insisted you couldn't fire an arrow from a bow because there was no chemical energy converted. We pointed out that there was chemical energy used in the muscles that pulled the bow but he said that was converted to potential energy and so didn't count.

    You're both whingeing tossers.

Yep, it's almost as bad as breaking someone else's bike, trust me... errrr moving right along. I took the board off him and got it fixed straight away even though he said don't worry, so the situation was fixed.

It was in the shallow water and yep, lession was learnt the hard way!

Surifing is awesome but racing is the best sport there is!

No, thank you - you were plenty patient with the mad old fart who is terrified of motorways.

Personally, I'm going for my apogee.

Didn't get a chance to ride today - been stuck at this bloody PC doing crap for work tomorrow. Today looked like perfect riding weather.

No more green goo, but I've still got to take it in next week to get the bolt holding the exhaust on replaced.
