    It's a good point

I do wonder some times how hypercritical it is to say you care about the planet and in your spare time you pollute it

But When it comes to poverty, if there's something I can do to help - why not

    Bullshit!

The NZ Dairy industry are supporting themselves. Dairy is our number one export, i dont care if some Malaysians lose their village because we are protecting it. If Fontera cant meet the World Price then the countries we sell to look elsewhere and we suffer as a whole. New Zealand is a price taker, we cannot make a difference in the world. However in saying that, if you and i can make a difference in your town and it doesn't cost a cent then why not.

EDIT: And name me a 'wealthy dictatorship'

I wasn't talking about pollution (although of course that counts), I was talking about more direct effects that harm people through the making and selling of oil and gas

Letting/encouraging black people into positions of power is what leads to poverty.

Yes. The MotoGP grids are shrinking.

The poor nations of the world generally enjoy corrupt leadership. No amount of welfare, trade, or exploitation of minerals will help, while politicians remain able to help themselves to the cream by force.

And our obsession with global warming will help make them even poorer.

If we choose to make carbon reductions of 40% as proposed by Greenpeace, palm oil will be the least of the third world problems.

We will buy their food so we can ferment it and burn it in our cars while oil sits in the ground.

We will hamstring our own economies with taxes that reduce our real ability to be productive, so their efforts at trade will be thwarted before they begin.

We will ban them cutting down their own trees, as we need them as carbon sinks.

Strangely, no one has been injured by global warming. But our hysteria about it staves millons already, and its gonna be a great growth industry.

Hmmm, not so easy... but I could name you a few wealthy dictators. I guess some perks must come along with any job that lowers your life expectancy - except from commercial diving that is.
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)
