    A lot of these countries in poverty have birth rates of around 7 children per woman. There are already too many people living there for people to be fed properly, yet they continue their population growth.

    Perhaps they should send them food parcels with the added benefit of making them sterile.

Do think any of us have money to spare? Tens of thousands of people are about to lose their jobs in this country. Why don't you go to the USA and ask them for money? They'll be sending people to Mars in the near future once they've finished invading everyone, they've got tons of cash.
    Who needs negative vibes with such a positive attitude as you..?

    Where are these 10's of thousands about to lose their jobs?

    7 births. I'd bet 2 of them make it to 5 years old. They perform vital household functions like the two hour round trip to collect clean water for the day's use, before school. If they are lucky enough to have a school within 20 kms.

    Wherever the "there" is you're imagining, a lack of food is seldom the reason for famine.

    You have to realise that in these Countries more kids = wealth for the family..doing tasks like getting water etc...high child mortality rate means that they have more kids knowing some will die young etc...more kids...more farmers / helpers...it's they way they think...was the same in UK a few hundred years ago with the Industrial Revolution and before then

    Like rainman I LOLed.

    So you haven't been following the reasons behind the current recession then?

    China owns the USA, literally. Thanks to a corporation called AIG. AIG collapses, and you'll be as poor as a Delhi untouchable, and there is not one thing you can do about it.

    The poverty you'll see in the US is vastly worse than anything you'll see in most of Africa.

    Infant mortality rates were lower before the Industrial revolution. They didn't really improve in the UK until after WW1. Maternal deaths are something that has changed to the point where people demand a Coroner's inquest if a woman dies in childbirth.

    Africa's poor because:

    (a) most of it is worthless for agriculture, and

    (b) it's full of dishonest niggers who are thick as pigshit.

    I'm not quite sure what any of us can do about either of those fundamental problems.

    Homo sapiens may have evolved on the east African plains, but civilisation didn't happen until the species migrated off that continent.

    Like I said.......I think we forget what "White" man was like back in the past and we now think it is only a "black" persons problem...

    Cool How about these

    before people come on here and go on about black people who deserve the misery they are born into, go on about how hopeless it is and we will never make a difference, or go on about how money that is donated ends up funding despots who use it to buy guns, why don't you read some of the following;

    There are good new Zealanders making a difference all over the world;
    http://www.livinghope.org.nz/
    http://sites.google.com/site/kailakurihealth/Home
    http://www.shimshaltrust.org.nz
    http://www.knzrt.co.nz

    Thru positive direct action over the past decade, the number of people in extreme poverty in the world has halved.

    My point was more that any attempt to do so is doomed. Some parts of the world can support civilised societies, others can't.

    Australia, for instance.
