Just make sure the thick plastic doesn't actually make contact with the teeth of the rear sprocket.
Sounds like a kids bike with the old 'clothes-peg-on-the-spokes' at low speed.
And at 50 or so kph it sounds like a Stuka dive-bomber is coming at you from behind.

Still need a bit more added to it, will post pics when I get home.

Haha I remember doing that as a kid, my dad, thought i was an idiot, he was right.
