    And other (bigger) Kawasakis...

Paraparas are crap. I can confirm this. Not quite as dirty as Napier Taupo but single lanes and traffic lights in places. And mud. And stuff.

    My bike needs a wash!

Ride up on the Saturday Morning
Meet Caltex Upper Hutt - time ??
Ride over to Masterton, out to Alfredton, Pahiatua
    Pahiatua track
    Ashurst
    Wanganui - Parapara's - National Park - Rally

    Stop somewhere for lunch
Anyone keen on this idea or have another route that keeps us off SH 1
If you going though Ashurst or Palmerston North I would suggest the road out through (54) or turning left at Cheltenham. Turning left I have done recently and the road is good and comes out at Vinegar Hill. And other road straight through goes through Rangiwahia to Mangaweka and should be a good riide too. Might go for a ride up it this weekend for a look.

Yep as Garry H says go up thru Kimbolton & Rangiwahia, Mangaweka on to Taihape for lunch ( old telegraph cafe ) up Desert rd to Rangipo across 47,( or onto Turangi and up past Tokaanau and Tongariro ) take scenic ride to Top of the Bruce and on to National Park.

Should be a good day's ride.

Doesn't seem to be many people riding up to the rally from South. Might just take the car

Don't be silly... It's a bike rally. Only take the car if you are hauling beer or music... Or your bike is broken...

Or you can't ride for some reason..

    Or..

Meh! Take the car but we are riding..

    Cheers

I knew if I posted that I'd get a reaction pretty quick.

Well its less than a week to go wheres everyone gonna stop for gas?

    First stop Ashurst Garage.
    Second Gasoline Alley Services Mangaweka

What about stopping at Manfeild for a couple of hours? Otherwise you'll be up there way before the 5.00pm start time right?

See you at one of those I guess

All roads lead to National Park. Eventually.

Don't panic. I shall pack my "Ruapehu Triangle" defibrillator. Just make sure you're close when I hit the "activate" button...
