    cb150 gearbox

hi in helping a friend with a 1976 cb150 bucket. Its all new to me as I used to race a 600 in the australian national series. These little buckets are great fun.Anyway I was wondering does anyone know if its possible to fit a 6 speed box if so what model bike do I get one from. We are in Tasmania Australia. Looks like bucket racing is bigger in NZ. cheers to you all

That must be a super 'NO' to that one.

1976 is just a bit too far back.

A 150cc motor would struggle driving it.

Would love to be proved wrong on this one

    BTW: Welcome to KB.

Your regulations will probably restrict what parts you can change (the auss rules are fairly strict I understand). However it is mute point I think all those Honda singles (CB125, XL125 etc were 5 speed).
Don't you look at my accountant.

I think one model of the XL125 (S) is a 6-speeder, but for those type of engines (like the Loncin I run), a 6-speeder isn't really required as they're a mid-range power delivery type engine.

XL125S and XR200 had 6 speeds but wether they fit into a '76 engine could be an issue.

Its harder to lose weight than gain horsepower.

If you can't squeeze the xl box into the CB see if you can graft the top end of the cb onto some xl cases. I have a cb125 with xl box but I bought it as it is and really have no idea whats in the engine truth be known.
