I dunno what the fuss is all about. I have a Flymo, and haven't given the poor blardy beast any maintenance for the last 10 years, but it still starts first or second pull every time. Each time I mow the lawn and listen to the clattering piston, I think of the last time I bought a part for it (primer button) and what the salesman said: "You take good care of that now - they don't make them anymore!" and feel a twinge of guilt, and think, "Yeah... I must weld up the apron, solder that broken wire, sharpen the blade, clean the airfilter, buy a new sparkplug, replace that frayed pullcord...." - and put it away for another few weeks of neglect.

As for those weedeaters: they're the most temperamental and unreliable infernal combustion deviced ever invented. I've never used or onwed one that didn't need a really good feeeedlin several times during every tank of gas, just to keep it running or to get it to start. Evil fuckers...

I wonder if my VFR is part weedwacker....?
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Its amazing how good Round up is as a lawn mower, then a couple of weeks later ring firths, and ya never have to mow the lawns again, ya also get a good burn out pad at the back door.

Buy another one off TM... one with a rooted piston or something? Save money on a replacement carb?

Or get that firearms of yours and let loose on it.
$2,000 cash if you find a buyer for my house, kumeuhouseforsale@straightshooters.co.nz for details

    I'll drink to that.
Stihl chainsaws - on my second one now, wore the first one out after about 25 years (firewood saw). It had no compression left and was getting gutless and so I gave it away, but so far as I know, it still (no pun intended) goes and starts easily.
    Never had a carby apart.
    Buggers just go.
    Just do.
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.
