Help on my t595 daytona

long story short
rebuilt the motor
put motor back in
brand new battery and away she started.....cool
so went for a spin to do a check on performance etc
20mins later bike starts to die.......
put on ute and get her home.
some how when we hooked up the electrics it seems to be draining all the charge from the battery
any ideas guys.........
charged the battery when got home and all good to start bike again
frustrating to say the least

if you haven't already I would recheak all the connections as if it started ok you may have shaken something loose on the ride
