hEY CHAPS AND CHAPESS'S thought i'd put this up for anyone who is interested

    mainland training
    hey mate

i think we met at the mainland twilight training couple of weeks ago. i was riding the red ducati 848. just thought i'd let you know (if you dont already) that they are doing another one next monday 8th. here's the blurb:

" It is for all stlyes of bikes but only riders that are at full licence level. This is not suitable for total novice riders. It is aimed to improve your corning skills and we will use A and B track to increase track time"

    usual time 4:45 sign on - 8pm $75

let any of the KB'ers know that you might think into it

    cheers

Cool, the price has gone up since the last one but i guess its a different program. It would be well worth it though. I know that i have made some changes to my riding style since i did the last course eh.

Max, whats 'bluevision' and what can you do with relays?
Would love to see how you made your cruise control too!

    Peas.
Started typing then thought too much, so put it off-thread in the blog - http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/en...f-night-riding ... For relays, check out the Daniel Stern Lighting link half-way down, that explains it all!

The cruise control is fully "active", not a "throttle stop" or lever - throttles-up for hills and down for downhill overrun etc. It's an AudioVox CCS100 DIY retrofit kit for cars/whatever - you used to be able to get them thru Amazon for abt $100US (although getting one to ship internationally is almost impossible, got a friend on a K1100 forum to ship me one, about $300 here - my Xmas pressie!) Nice design since they can work off either a speedo sensor OR the ignition coil... "output" is a mechanical cable to the throttle bodies, run via vacuum power under control from the electronics. Certainly nice for chilling out on longer rides (like 90% of the way home).

Just need to stop waving at other riders with my right hand, now!

Will watch out for the vids... Just like "I Like that One 2"!! (god that's going back a bit)
He who shall go stately at the back and not stress out.
So Gareth what was it you said about MaxF's "Funky ass curves"? - God, now I'm worried...

I remember seeing both these and my BMW riding round the bays and bugging my dad as to what they were. So now I have them! It's a nice day when you can say that.

And just what are you insinuating?

It'll be a while, if at all, 'cause it has no REG (on hold), WOF or insurance and I'm broker than broke.
Plus, it may have a bearing going on the front sprocket shaft bit. I was quoted about $600-ish to fix as it's an engine pull and a case crack.

So I don't want to ride it and cause more damage. I start it from time to time and that's about it.

Poor thing, needs love and I'm too broke to love

Unless anyone has some spare millions lying around ...

I know what you mean about not having money. Hence the reason my car is still off the road! As long as you keep on loving it, thats the main thing!!

So I guess the big question is... What's for next week?
I've got a mate who's just got himself a pretty nutty gsxr750 SF, keen as to get him out on the WNR next week.
