Diamond Harbour gets a vote from me - as much as a ride to Kaikoura sounds great, i think my current skill level limits me to a shorter ride on more familiar roads - on a longer trip i might be tempted to try and keep up with others too much.

No I don't think Flip would be too happy with all these bikers snuggling up to his wife!!
Diamond Harbour is good for me!! And to thise doing the Kiakoura run, ride safe and have fun!! I'm just jealous!!! I would be the one that would be caught speeding and over my curfew, thats just my luck!

Yea yea, diamond harbour, lovely ride for my last for a while with you lot.
An experience cannot be proven, intellect and reason cannot prove the beauty of an awesome relationship with a motorbike.
I'll be heading back from the coast on Weds so may not make the WNR, we'll see ...
The views expressed above may not match yours - But that's the reason my Dad went to war - wasn't it?
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, .... but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out,... shouting "man, what a ride"!!!
And remember ...... if it hasn't got one of "Uncle Flip's" prosthetic kickers it isn't a real motorbike!!!
Well, I'll be up for the short one - gave up the "500kms for snacks" runs after uni, and after $500+ for tyres last week I'm maybe thinking I should ration myself a bit!
also - cheeky comments, semi in-jest; applies specifically to the long-run crew but also to the regulars - make sure you've got the basics ... spare lights (esp headlight), fuses, tyre repair kit (Petra!), torch so you can use them, hazard triangle or flashers, first aid kit if you feel particularly responsible...
Have a good ride, wherever!

I had a Dr200 once, it was a good wee bike. When i sold it a chap turned up to take it for a ride. He asked what the gears are? I said "First gear is down" so he road around the back yard slowly and then said i'll take it! He handed me the cash and then rode off down the road in first gear and off into the distance!! Perhaps i was at fault and should have told him that it had 4 more gears that are up? I dunno you tell me?! lol
