    Hampton Downs hire bikes

    When hampton downs open {if it ever does at the snail pace it going} they've got hire bike to rider aroind the race track, gxr600's does anyone know if you need a bike licence to take them out?? im keen but im only 14 and dont get my licence until a few months~! ive got a full mnz competition licence.

    Also took my bike in to get painted yesterday and the guy doing my bike is also doing all the bikes for hampton downs, the paint jobs for them are apparently $5k each !!!

    They are dangerous to ride. In a lot of ways easy (comfortable etc) but in some ways not very safe.

    If you want to get on a bigger bike, when you get your restricted apply for an exemption so you can sit your full licence straight after passing the restricted. If you have done a sufficient amount of racing etc., they may accept your exemption form. I know because I tried. Either that or get one anyway and try not to be a hooligan dumbass... but that doesn't work out so well.

    yer im going to start of on a scooter for some dumb reason, but i dont want to pretend im on the race track {which of course i would} and get myself killed.

    cant afford to buy a flash road bike ive spend way too much on my fxr

    Cant help but think someone is talking that up abit. $5k for a paint job on a bike that is to be used commercially, with a reasonably high risk of damage - doesn't sound very financially viable....

    5k includeding the fairings maybe but even that would be a strech. No way that they would cost that much.

    hmm i think so, even 5k for the lot would be a bit steep but more believable
