I don't see why this one guy or Maori's upsetting you and making you sick. There is three ways you can go about it:
1-if you got some change and you feel like give to him then do it.
2-if you don't have change or you don't feel like give to him then tell him "NO".
3-if he or someone is upsetting you and make you sick, you tell him to his face "I'm sick of you, wtf you asking for change...wtf F.Off you drugged out Maori in blanket sitting and wobbling your drugged out head.

O I see way you not doing number 3 because you are scared little boy and if you do tell him that you know that Maori boy is going to knock you head out so you decide to jump on your keyboard and start Maori bashing to us. I have lot of good friends and know lot of hard working Maori people so I don't appreciate that, you jugging all of them just because of few individuals. I know what people you talking about and there is lot of Maori's among them because they belong to poorer social group for whatever reason we can go on and on about it, but not all of them are Maori, some of white man in Auckland bagging and it is not base on race, that kind of stuff is normal all around world .When I come to NZ I spend nearly 4 mts on street, didn't know anyone and no were to go, so I came across lot of pore and homeless people like that. If you get to know them you will found lot of them are really nice people, they will share little they got with you food clothes ...and down to earth with good sens of humor. Just different reason why are they end up on street, some for short time, some don't know how to get out of it.
But what you really should do is educate your self and ask him why is he doing it and see his perspective and his way of life, then if you so smart give him suggestion, help and advise to another way of leaving his life. Like I'm doing it for you "chef get real bike and life you looser" .
That is if you like to do something about it instead just mocking on KB and try to get someone to agree with you . You can learn a lot from Maori guy on the corner .

By the way those people can't get sent to some island or something, because for your information just like me, you are on his island so why don't you just f#@% off to what ever shit hole, you or your daddy come from. OK chef

We have this one fat guy who does the same thing. "Got spare change bro?" I always tell him to get a job or at least visit WINZ, but I think he's too lazy even for that. Worse place I've seen is Auckland CBD.

I used to frequently get asked "have you got $3 for the bus?", inevitably outside one of the many gambling places in Southmall. The first few times I gave what coins I had in my purse (which is not usually much - cash is something I rarely have these days). But it did get really annoying after a while.

I just say now "sorry I have no cash on me". It got to the point where I was waiting for the day I'd get the bash because someone refused to believe me.

Having said that, I'm wondering if Southmall management have done something about it as I haven't been asked for quite a while now. Either people complained about it, or maybe it's just that I avoid going to my local shopping mall (if you can call it that) as much as possible.

i refuse to give to beggers. been asked both here and in canada, and always give a flat no, sorry, no cash on me. the most pathetic was a very overweight drunk guy sprawled on the steps on a bar in palmy nth. yeh, like im gonna give you money so you can go continue drinking. tui. another was an obviously drunk american indian who asked for cash early in the morning to go to rememberance day events in another town. i didnt carry any cash while i was there, so he got a no as well.

If it upsets you walk some other route, or ignore them. You don't need to take it personally!
The begging issue in NZ is much less than in other countries, try walking through Brussels railway station....you can be accosted every few feet...and yes, they do you if you don't hand over your cash!

The spelling, dear God the spelling!

I'm nauseous. I'm also off to give anyone I see standing outside a StarMart a $1.

Great thing this site, only place where you can voice an opinion and get shit chucked at ya.P/T but in a serious manner, part of a lifestyle he/she lives, there can be many reasons why they're street bound.

Also have a looksie in Sydney parks around the inner city.I did a red bus trip in 1998,walked from Kings Cross to next stop as had all day to do trip, sat in a park to have a drink, this lady about 45 sat on the seat along from me,asked if I had enough change for a coffee, said yep and got her one(rather than give her cash and she take off)ended up that she was the daughter of some wealthy parents, told them she was lesbian and they told her to piss off.She had her own penthouse appartment(but rented it out as she couldn't afford it,after family job went)she decided to do it rough, see peoples attitudes were to homeless and write about it.She did this for 3 months living on the streets.Turned out her folks had died within 3 months of each other, she went to the last funeral, and her sister let her into the will, and everything was sweet. But the people she met living rough were ones she wanted to help(those that wanted to help themselves)into jobs etc.Fascinating story and kept me amazed for almost 2 hours.
