Ahem!!......and the references to South Island fuel problems with respect to a GC are???

Riders with a marginal fuel range usually carry fuel when doing a GC, but just for 'peace of mind' as I don't think they normally need it. I had 11 fuel stops when I did it on the Intruder (8 in the first half and 3 in the 2nd half) because I kept topping up 'Just in Case'!

I did it on a bike which has the fuel light come on at around 180-190km and anything approaching 250km is getting risky. Didn't carry any spare fuel, "Just in Case" worked well.

    GC 2009 Entry for transfer/sale

Seriously pissed off at the moment, but have to face reality and accept that I will not be able to complete the Grand Challenge 2009.

    I have an entry (cost $ 120) + Friday/Sunday accom ($50) up for grabs.

    Group 3 depart 3.06pm

If interested, let me know and we can go from there. All offers considered (also I have to advise the Rusty's.)

Great opportunity to do something different for 24hrs :-)

    Cheers

Thanks, it's not the end of the world.

I may still head down to meet the guys at the start/end but its a bit like being on the reserve bench after the team has won the big game.

Worst thing is the fact that I will not be able to talk it through with a couple of my mates with beers after the event.

This was to be my 3rd but after getting my diagnosis today I realise that its over.

To all, have a great ride.

Never! Stop spreading vicious rumours. It was probably your MP3 player and music selection...
