Unhappy 1.4 billion people live in poverty

1.4 billion people on our planet live in extreme poverty. So what’s new?

Lets face it - we're fortunate to not be part of the 1.4 billion, even the poorest of us in this country are wealthy compared to the vast majority.

Not that we should feel guilty or anything but; what if you could actually help without being harassed for money, with out to much of an effort you can make a huge difference to their lives.
So come along and learn how – so next time you’re out indulging in our environment destroying, fossil fuel burning, carbon admitting polluting addiction, you can ride feeling better about yourself as a person

Seriously though; the Global Poverty Project is a global movement trying to encourage people like us to take effective concerted action on poverty.

The Global Poverty Project is not after your money. The presentation explains how your everyday actions - in what you learn, say, buy, give and do - can be connected to the ending of extreme poverty. Small actions in your life can create big opportunities for the world's poorest.
Come and see a simple presentation ‘1.4 billion reasons’, the 90 minute presentation clearly articulates the facts of extreme poverty and demonstrates that by making simple changes everyone can be a part of the solution.

So come along and become a part of the movement to end extreme poverty.

What a load of shit. You people always aim at the most heavily taxed group-the middle class. You should go and listen to Dr Gareth Morgan who spent time in Africa on a bike trip. He said in order to get rid of poverty it will take a multi-national effort and you have go in guns blazing with billions of dollars to initiate infrastructure. Do think any of us have money to spare? Tens of thousands of people are about to lose their jobs in this country. Why don't you go to the USA and ask them for money? They'll be sending people to Mars in the near future once they've finished invading everyone, they've got tons of cash.

A lack of money leads to poverty.........or so ive been told
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

And while I'm at it, you are 100% correct, most of the money you send to "save Africa" goes into their governments coffers. Maybe the USA invading everyone is a good idea, next stop Zimbabwe

What makes you think I haven't, and I've read his books.
Rather than think you understand everything, dismiss it as 'not my problem' Gareth Morgan siad ....bla bla bla - why don't you find out the facts
And by the way - Gareth Morgan is not always right, and your interpretation of his thinking is not right either

    Or more ivory back scratchers..

All the best intentions in the world isn't going to do any good without their greedy ass governments doing something for their people.

EDIT - And while this may make me sound like a real heartless cunt, I don't really care, the world is already vastly over populated, resources are being honed out faster than they can be replaced, if the impoverished masses suddenly are not impoverished anymore, the situation will only get exponentially worse. The truth hurts..

Yep money to the 3rd world nations isnt the solution. Changing the value of human life in 3rd world nations is the only solution and unfortunately I think it's a lost cause.

The greedy and the cruel rise to the top in such wastelands of human misery.
