    70 years on...

...and the Russians still don't regard the Katyn massacre as a war crime. Shows the Russians still like to screw the Poles over.

"But Putin argued Moscow had no choice, blaming Western leaders for failing to oppose Hitler's appetite for territorial expansion"

Ah huh? So Soviet territorial expansion 1937 onwards, including invading Finland in 39, was ok?

Well at least the Germans know when to say sorry.

Poor Poland, get it in both ends every time the neighbours get a god complex. Yep the Russians were actually worse (believe it or not) on the Poles than the Germans. But both severely messed with them (Germans on Jewish, Russians on everyone else) and changed their future by knocking off their scholars and leaders, imprisoning the intelligent or killing them. That screwed them up for a verry long time.

Russia will continue to have small countries they gobbled up with force, like Lithuania, Latvia etc... divide back off to be their own entities again. They surrounded and aimed big tanks at Lithuania when they announced that wanted independence. This part of the world has an amazing history of violence and aggression, and its still there today. Remember the Beslan horror and see what can happen when the small guys fight back to make a statement. The Russian Govt is soo screwed up they blame the terrorists for this, as in no way can this be because of what they have done. Hmm messy.

I take it you concentrated on the sensationalist title quite alot.

In war, no side has clean hands. And the winners get to write the history.

Not in this case. Both warmongers made a ton of enemies and resorted to communism, and dragged eastern europe into the shitter with them.

    Secrets of WW2!

The secret weapon that broke WW2, was developed in 1939! (October 25 to be exact!)

Once the enemy understood what they were up against, they knew their war was over, so they quit unconditionaly!

The Jap's were slower learners than the Germans but they worked it out in the end.

The weapon in question is "still" top secret to this very day!

If I told you what it was I would probably have to kill you!

That was a very rare comment from them. I wonder how much of that the Russian state controlled media will tell the people. And I understand Russian teachers are now being asked to not paint Stalin in a bad light anymore and that he wasn't responsible for the death of millions.

Russia at the moment is trying to revive its glory days and think Putin is trying to live that dream.

Putin conveniently forgets that Germany based their airforce on Soviet soil to rehearse the "blitzkreig" tactics.

Neville Chamberlain didn't really help the situation.

Although it could be argued that he bought vital time for Britain...he was also a key mover in the setting up of the SOE, so as with all things it's worthwhile reading beyond the headlines...

Yeah, we don't exactly love the Poles for that one. To this day.

The Poles and the Russkis have been at each others throats for centuries.
Was it THAT much of a surprise..........
