Didn't receive a text telling destination so opened a bottle of red instead.
Never mind, there's always next week.
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

    For What It Is Worth
The guideline is not a waste of cyber ink, but a waste of space in the minds of those who cannot see reason. May the TCWNR's be reported in a positive light and those that intend to ride on Wednesday have some respect for those riding in front and behind because sooner or later they may/will need YOUR help when shit happens or you may need THEIR help.

So.... According to this, Hitcher was the organiser of the ride, did a pre ride briefing and organised TEC (and is legally responsible).

stupid guide putting too many rules on something that should be fun and easy...

I'm not going to get deep, meaningful, judgemental or philosophical. My post was intended for newbie riders who stumble onto this ride.

    hehe... I like it!

Yeah, I'll look forward to some new faces and seeing some old ones. I'm, up for next week. Hope work schedules allow for a ride... Might get Mrs. B along as well (no kids for the night - yay!)

    Riders: Five
Was interesting to hear the comments expressed at the Duckpond carpark about the Group Riding Guidelines.

In brief as there were only five riders, I spoke up and said 'Well I am going to ride to the top of the Paekakariki Hill, ride your own ride.'

I arrived at the top of the Paekakariki Hill to be greeted by the other four riders ahead of me in what were very blustery conditions, no rain though - and the ride up was very pleasant. Coming down however with an uncharactersitic slip into Neutral, had my reaction kicking in quite effectively as the right hand sweep approached: front setup easy on, clutch then into gear, rear easy on then off, out clutch, gradual acceleration, look through the corner and counter steer.
    The Group Riding Guideline
In my opinion the guideline is quite reasonable and one observation comment: if there is any rider with recent first aid training perhaps it could be useful if that rider rode to the rear with Tail End Charlie. [and....if that is you who is recently trained, then when next going on a group ride - bite the bullet and do it.]

The case tonight there were only five riders, an optimum size really for a small group ride, and the bottom line be responsible and ride your own ride.
Before someone else says it. FFS.

who said this was a group wednesday night ride? its just a meeting point for a bunch of random bikers that may or may not follow eachother down the road...

we dont need a group leader or first aid person or any more FUCKING RULES that will turn this so called fun ride into hard work...
